Former Trump White House Chief Strategist Says It Is “the Most Humanitarian” Policy

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last night on HBO’s VICE News Tonight, former Trump White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon told reporter Krishna Sai Andavolu that he believes “100 percent in the child separation policy,” calling it “the most humanitarian” policy. Seriously.

“Steve Bannon’s cavalier support for the Trump administration’s family separation and detention immigration policy, shows how little the White House and those around it care about the wellbeing of these children,” said Karl Frisch, a spokesperson for Restore Public Trust. He continued, “Because of the negligence and reckless disregard of those responsible for planning and implementing this horrific policy, officials did not keep the records needed for reuniting families, nor did they properly vet those responsible for looking after these children. Children have been physically abused and sexually assaulted. Some have even died. It speaks volumes about the type of man Steve Bannon is that he would describe this policy as ‘humanitarian.’”
